What is Integrative Counselling?
There are many different types of therapy, and what Integrative counselling does, is fuses together elements of different therapeutic models, to form a customised approach, to suit the individual needs of each and every person that comes to counselling. Integrative counselling is a 'whole person' approach, meaning its process involves recognising, considering and bringing together, all the different components that make up a person. My Integrative Training
I understand that every person that I'm fortunate enough to work with, is completely unique, with unique life experiences and a unique way of working. I don’t believe that there is just one therapeutic approach that suits everyone! I also feel that all the major theoretical categories hold value. For these reasons, I chose to study integrative counselling, as it allows me to form an approach to best suit and support each individual person that I work with and to offer a unique therapeutic experience. Some areas studied during my training and therefore, elements likely to be drawn from in my integrative approach, include humanistic and person-centred counselling, parts work, neuroscience, CBT and Gestalt therapy, To learn more about each of these different approaches, click here.
