How I work
When it comes to my personal counselling philosophy, I believe that there is no one approach that fits all!

As an integrative counsellor, I’ll draw on a variety of theories and techniques, to create a personalised approach to suit you.

You, your individual needs, and your preferences, will always be sole focus when it comes to determining the ways in which we work, the pace at which we work at, and the direction that our work together takes us in.

I understand that your needs and requirements will likely change and evolve, and so I will regularly check-in with you over the time that we work together, to ensure that our work continues to meet your needs, and I will be flexible to make adaptations when needed. Facilitating your natural process of change is fundamental to how I work.

Central to my counselling philosophy, is the belief that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is everything!
A therapeutic relationship built on respect, trust, openness and honesty, will help create a space where you feel safe, heard, valued, supported, validated, and understood. A space in which we can together, explore difficulties that you may be experiencing.

Working collaboratively, side-by-side, we will both be contributing to an unfolding process. You will have a sense of agency and control over your therapy journey and will play an active role in shaping the therapy process. Working in this way, enhances self-reflection, increases self-awareness/understanding, and promotes healing and growth.

Through our work together, I will help you to make the changes that you want to make in your life, help you to recognise and achieve your therapeutic goals, and help you to empower yourself!
